Thais Herrera, an industrial engineering graduate of the National Pedro Henriquez Ureña University in Santo Domingo, is on the Adventure Grand Slam to climb the seven summits of the continents of the world and the North and South poles.
Visibly moved, mountain climber Thais Herrera announced on her Instagram account that she had reached the top of the 5,895 meters high Kilimanjaro mountain in Africa. She did so with her son, Yamil Aristy.
Previously, Thais Herrera had become the first Dominican woman to climb other key mountain peaks. In June, she had climbed the highest mountain in North America, the 6,190 meters high Denali in Alaska. She has also climbed the highest peak in South America, the Aconcagua with 6,962 meters, and the Elbrus in Rusia (Europa), with 5,642 meters.
She now has set her sights on more mountain climbs – the Vinson in Antarctica in the South Pole, North Pole...
