The data collection for the 10th National Census of Population and Housing 2022 is experiencing delays. The governor for the province of Santiago, Rosa Santos told reporters that over 25% of the province has yet to be counted. According to the official, tech issues are causing the delays. The poll takers are using electronic tablets to enter the data.

She also noted that limited access to some residential areas, gated communities and delays in polling inhabitants in large apartment buildings, have also contributed to the delays. There have been incidences of poll takers being assaulted by vandals.

According to sources at the National Statistics Office (ONE) there is still a good bit of head-counting to be done in Greater Santo Domingo, Santiago and Higüey.
