President Luis Abinader was present on Monday, 29 August 2023 for the opening of the renovated maternity and children medical center at the Marcelino Velez Santana General Hospital in Herrera, western Santo Domingo province. The dialysis center at the hospital was also renovated.
The Abinader administration invested RD$765 million.
The hospital is closest for the large populations living in western areas of Santo Domingo province, including Herrera, Av. Independencia, Isabel Aguiar, Hato Nuevo, Bayona, Buenos Aires, Manoguayabo and Las Caobas.
