The Central Electoral Board (JCE) announced the numbering for the 42 political parties, groups and movements authorized to participate in the 2024 general elections. Political marketers say that the low numbering gives political parties a psychological boost with voters. Regardless of the large number of political organizations, otes are expected to concentrate among three political parties – the PRM, PLD and FP.

The ruling Modern Revolutionary Party (PRM) now moves to position 1 in place of the Dominican Liberation Party (PLD). The Fuerza del Pueblo (FP) is in third and the Dominican Revolutionary Party (PRD) in fourth, followed by the Social Christian Reformist Party (PRSC) in fifth place.

Most of the minority parties will ally with the three larger parties for the elections.
