The Licey Tigers lost to Panama’s Federales de Chiriquí 3-1 in its final commitment in the group stage of the Caribbean Series at the LoanDepot Ball Park of the Miami Marlins in Miami, Florida.
The DR qualified for the series in third place, tied with the Caribbean Suns of Curacao, both with 3 wins and 3 losses. Venezuela and Panama tied for second place (5 wins and 1 loss).
The Licey had already qualified to the semi-final round together with the Tiburones de La Guaira of Venezuela, the Caribbean Suns of Curacao and the Federales de Chiriqui. The DR will play Panama again on Thursday, 8 February in the match to determine the playoff teams for the finals of the Caribbean Series set for Friday, 9 February.
