Spokesperson for the Presidency Homero Figueroa reported on Sunday, 11 February 2024 that President Luis Abinader will travel Monday evening to New York City to participate in a meeting of the United Nations Security Council on Tuesday, 13 February 2024.

Figueroa used his X account to explain the President would participate in the 11:30am meeting at the UN and then return on Tuesday evening.

The meeting is expected to dedicate time to focus on the worsening of the multidimensional crisis in Haiti and actions backed by the UN Security Council.
