The president of the Senate, Ricardo de los Santos was sworn in on Sunday, 24 March 2024 to preside the National Federation of Dominican Transportation (Fenatrado). The board of directors decided De los Santos will continue to chair the trucking organization for the 2024-2028 term. De los Santos is senator for the province of Sanchez Ramirez.

The swearing in was attended by Vice President Raquel Peña. The mayor of the National District, Carolina Mejía and her father, former President Hipolito Mejia (2000-2004), also attended the swearing-in. Others present were Presidency Minister Joel Santos, Labor Minister Luis Miguel De Camps and Industry & Commerce Minister Ito Bisonó.

Also, Eduardo Sanz Lovatón, general director of Customs; Randolfo Rijo, director of the National Institute of Transit and Land Transportation (Intrant): and Guillermo Moreno, candidate for senator for the National District, among others.
