Almost six months after the tragic collapse of the inner walls of the 27 de Febrero Avenue underpass at the height of the Juan Pablo Duarte Olympic Center on 18 November 2023, the Ministry of Public Works reopened the east-west traffic on that point of the thoroughfare. Nine persons died on 18 November 2024 when torrential rains caused the collapse of the walls.
