A combination of a trough and a tropical wave will bring scattered showers and thunderstorms across the Dominican Republic, primarily Tuesday, 9 July 2024 in the afternoon.

Currently, a trough is producing cloudy skies with occasional moderate to heavy showers, isolated thunderstorms, and occasional gusts of wind across several provinces in the eastern and northeastern regions of the country. These showers are expected to continue to spread to other parts of the country, including La Altagracia (Punta Cana), El Seibo, Hato Mayor, Monte Plata, Samaná, La Vega, Duarte (San Francisco de Macoris), Barahona, Sánchez Ramírez (Cotuí), Azua, Monseñor Nouel (Bonao), San Cristóbal, María Trinidad Sánchez (Nagua), and Espaillat (Moca) and Greater Santo Domingo. The showers are expected to gradually diminish overnight.
