The small town of San Jose de las Matas, popularly called “Sajoma,” celebrates its first Multi-sector Fair this next weekend – Thursday, 25 July to Sunday, 28 July 2024. Sajoma is located south of Santiago de los Caballeros with a very good highway leading up into the mountains.

The Expo is organized by the Farm Coop of San Jose de las Matas, to showcase the varied farm production of the area and promote domestic tourism. The theme is: Commerce, Farms, and Fun. There will be exhibitions and sales of farm equipment, animals raised in the area, fresh produce and foods prepared by local chefs, a true gastronomical wonder.

The intention is to bring farmers and livestock breeders together for a celebration of the agriculture accomplishments and discuss the advancement of farmers – much like a 4H Country Fair in the US or Canada.
