The Dominican Port Authority (Apordom) has been accused of withholding crucial information about the operation and leasing of shipyards in the country, following a request for information by Diario Libre newspaper.

Diario Libre says that after months of information requests Apordom provided a partial response, detailing only five shipyards operating within the Dominican Republic. The newspaper reports that the government entity purposely omitted information regarding the terms of leases, modalities, and beneficiaries. The newspaper says the omission raises concerns about transparency in the management of these public assets.
