Media reports on the death of 28-year old Kevin Alberto Calderon Peña of bullet wounds in Laval, Montreal, Quebec, on Thursday, 10 October 2024. The incident occurred while Calderon Peña was outside his car in a parking lot near the intersection of Daniel Johnson and Le Carrefour boulevard, as reported by the Laval Police Department. Calderon Peña is described as an employee of a cryptocurrency company.

The shooting occurred around 5pm in the parking lot near Carrefour Laval in broad daylight while several people were on site. Calderon Peña was attacked while heading to his vehicle in the parking lot near his office. He was accompanied by his girlfriend who was not injured by the gunshots.

The case is under investigation. Canadian media reported the victim was not known to the police nor had a criminal record.
