The conflict between the Dominican government and Romeo Santos centers on his song “La Suegra,” which was banned by the National Commission of Public Shows and Radio (CNEPR). The CNEPR prohibited the song’s broadcast, claiming its language was “inappropriate, inconsiderate, and aggressive,” and that it contained verses that incite violence.
