In a historic ceremony, the National Police welcomed 984 new female recruits to its ranks. The event, presided over by Interior and Police Minister Faride Raful and National Police Director General Major General Ramón Antonio Guzmán Peralta, marked a milestone in the institution’s ongoing transformation, as reported in a National Police press release.

The new class, named “María Trinidad Sánchez” in honor of a prominent Dominican figure, represents a substantial step forward in promoting gender equality within the police force. These aspiring officers will undergo rigorous training at the Major General Eulogio Benito Monción Leonardo Police Training School in Hatillo, San Cristóbal.
