President Luis Abinader joined thousands of Dominicans who made the pilgrimage to Higuey, in eastern La Altagracia province to celebrate the religious protector of the Dominican people. President Abinader participated in the mass at the Basilica de Higuey accompanied by First Lady Raquel Arbaje and Vice President Raquel Peña.

The President was joined by former President Hipólito Mejía; Minister of Defense, Lieutenant General Carlos Antonio Fernández Onofre; Minister of Interior and Police, Faride Raful; Provincial Governor Martina Pepén; Senator Rafael Barón Duluc Rijo (Cholitín); National Police Director, Major General Ramón Antonio Guzmán Peralta; and Higüey Mayor Karina Aristy.
