Government electricity power distributor, EdeSur has sped up the work of the new electricity substation in Arroyo Hondo in northern Santo Domingo. The project will positively impact around 30 sectors in the northern, and western parts of Santo Domingo. Of course, during the process, there have been many interruptions of service—blackouts if you will— some lasting several hours. However, these are to be expected under these conditions.

Among the areas that will certainly benefit from the improved electricity service will be Arroyo Hondo II and III, Los Rios, Colinas de Arroyo Hondo, Cuesta Hermosa I, II, and III, Isabela Villas, Puerta de Hierro, and along most of the Republic of Colombia Avenue.
