Miguel Marte, director of Civil Defense for Santo Domingo North, was one of the first responders at the scene of the roof collapse of JetSet Club at 12:45am on 8 April 2025 during the concert by Rubby Perez. He worked in the rescue operations in the stage area and found the corpse of merengue singer Rubby Perez. Many rumors had circulated that Perez had survived the collapse of the roof and was singing to help the responders find and rescue him. There were stories he had been taken to the hospital. This was not true.
