World Tourism Organization secretary general Zurab Pololikashvili (Georgia), in the position since January 2018, seeks a third term as secretary general of the UN Tourism agency.

Nevertheless, reports are that the incumbent secretary general does not have the votes to win a third term. Moreover, there is no clear majority for any candidate.

The UN agency rules establish that 35 members are eligible to vote in the WTO Executive Council. Eighteen of these are needed for the secretary general position to be allocated in the first round.

The first round of voting is scheduled for 29-30 May 2025.
