The Ministry of Public Health is reporting seasonal lows of dengue cases, despite the consistent rains. The Ministry of Public Health has held major educational campaigns and has purchased mosquito-busting equipment for use in vulnerable areas, creating new awareness.

The Ministry of Public Health announced a significant decrease in dengue fever cases across the Dominican Republic, despite confirming two new cases in young children this past week.

During epidemiological week 19, two five-year-olds, one each from Puerto Plata and San Cristóbal, tested positive for dengue. This brings the total to 13 cases reported over the last four weeks, marking a substantial 73.5% reduction compared to the same period in 2024.
