L 87/6.2-liter engine / GM Powered Solutions

There are many GMC Sierras and Chevrolet Suburbans and Tahoes and several Cadillac Escalades in circulation in the Dominican Republic.

Take note that the United States National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) issued a recall on 24 April 2025, for all General Motors vehicles with the L 87/6.2-liter engine, for model years 2021-2024. This recall (N252494001 and following) is for Cadillac, GMC and Chevrolet vehicles with this engine. The recall has been made in three phases: first, for dealers, then for owners within the warranty period, and lastly for all vehicle owners.

This issue is serious. The L87 6.2L engine has a major flaw. The crankshaft is not at the correct tolerance, and the rod bearings tend to disintegrate, and the engines destroy themselves, leaving drivers stranded or worse. To appreciate...
