The Dominican Meteorological Institute (Indomet) forecasts widespread rain today across the northeast, southeast, and southwest regions, as well as the Central Mountain Range and border areas.

Indomet reports that the precipitation will begin this morning, driven by a combination of a trough, moisture carried by the prevailing easterly winds, and localized atmospheric effects.

Provinces that could be affected by these rains include La Altagracia, Hato Mayor, Monte Plata, Sánchez Ramírez, Duarte, La Vega, Monseñor Nouel, Azua, Peravia, Barahona, and Santo Domingo.
