Sisalril, the acronym for the Superintendent of Labor Health and Risks, has over 7,500 cases of prostate cancer diagnosis on record. Since January, there have been 1,000 new cases registered. This data was released last week as part of the commemoration of World Prostate Cancer Day.

According to the information from the Family Health Insurance (SFS), most of the new cases were persons who recently had come under the subsidized coverage of the program.

As a result of these numbers, Sisalril is urging all men to have regular checkups to detect this pathology in a timely fashion when it is most treatable. Regular checkups are not an option, but rather a necessity, according to the health authorities.
