The Weather Institute (Indomet) is forecasting hot temperatures and the Saharan dust will continue to prevail in the atmosphere. For Tuesday, 8 July 2025, a tropical wave will bring some relief, with an increased likelihood of showers and thunderstorms across much of the country.
A tropical wave is combining with the existing trough. This is forecast to bring some morning showers to coastal areas of the south, specifically San Pedro de Macorís, San Cristóbal, Peravia, and Barahona. From the afternoon into early evening, expect widespread cloudiness, showers, thunderstorms, and possible wind gusts in provinces such as Hato Mayor, Monte Plata, San Pedro de Macorís, Sánchez Ramírez, Duarte, Hermanas Mirabal, Puerto Plata, La Vega, Monseñor Nouel, San Cristóbal, Santiago, Valverde, Santiago Rodríguez, Montecristi, Puerto Plata, Elias Piña, and Dajabon.
