The Santo Domingo Metro Office (Opret) has announced a five-day suspension of service on a key section of the Santo Domingo Metro, beginning Wednesday, 16 July through Sunday, 20 July 2025. The shutdown will affect the line between Mamá Tingó (Villa Mella) and Hermanas Mirabal (Parque Mirador Norte) stations in Santo Domingo North, as crews carry out system modernization work.

Opret explains that from Wednesday, 16 July to Friday, 18 July, service will be suspended between the Francisco Peña Gómez (Los Guaricanos) and Mamá Tingó stations, in Villa Mella. Meanwhile, on Saturday the 19th and Sunday the 20th, the suspension will affect the stretch between the Hermanas Mirabal station (near Mirador Norte Park) and Mamá Tingó.
