Empresa Generadora de Electricidad (Ege Haina) is adding 60 MW of solar capacity with the installation of a new ground-mounted photovoltaic plant project in northwestern Valverde province.

The project is in partnership with LONGi an Elecnor Group. David Sanchez, general manager for LONGi Solar Europe called the collaboration the setting of a new benchmark for solar energy in the Caribbean.

Ricardo Estevez, senior director of development at EGE Haina explained that the integrating LONGis advanced Hi-MO 9 modules in their Esperanza Park operations will significantly boost the entity’s renewable energy capacity, reinforcing their role as a key player in Caribbean’s clean energy transition and contributing substantially to the country’s climate goals.
