The National Institute of Forensic Sciences (Inacif) has officially certified that US citizen Ellen Frances Hulett, 24, died from heart failure as part of multi-organ failure. This finding rules out any signs of violence, according to a forensic report obtained by Diario Libre from a source within the Attorney General’s Office.

The Inacif report, delivered to the US Department of State on 11 July 2025, sheds light on the death of Hulett, who passed away on 23 June 2025 at the Haina Vacation Center while in the custody of the Migration Agency (DGM).

The forensic findings align with the death certificate issued by the US Embassy, which additionally cited pulmonary edema and acute liver failure as clinical causes of death.

Following her death, Hulett’s body was embalmed and transported to Florida.
