Taking part in a weekly breakfast at the Corripio Group, Minister of Education Luis Miguel De Camps stated quite clearly that school hours will not be changed in the immediate future to assist the DR Get Moving program initiated by the government just recently. This means that at the start of the school year, which is just around the corner, there will be hundreds of thousands of school children on the streets in the mornings and afternoons.

The minister noted that since the program to improve traffic flows in Greater Santo Domingo was in its first phase, he felt that it was wise to wait and see the results of the initial efforts such as changing the hours of government workers and eliminating left turns at key intersections.
