The Dominican Republic has a special place in Costa Line cruise marketing. In a recent interview for Travel Age West, Dario Rustico, Costa Line’s general manager for North and South America of Costa Cruise Line explained that in the Caribbean, a different itinerary from many of the major cruise lines is offered because ships sail out of the Dominican Republic, not Florida.

“So with the short flight to the Dominican Republic, we can sail deeper into the Caribbean over the seven-day itinerary,” he explained.

Costa Line cruise ships travel to multiple cruise ship ports in the Dominican Republic.

A Costa Pacifica cruise has an itinerary that goes around the island of Hispaniola with stops at the ports of La Romana, Cabo Rojo, Turks and Caicos, Puerto Plata, Samana and Isla Catalina.
