A nine-year-old boy with autism was safely reunited with his mother on Sunday, 27 July 2025, thanks to the swift actions of concerned citizens and officers from the National Police, Diario Libre reported. The boy had gone missing in the trails of Mirador Sur Park in the National District.

According to a video shared on the National Police’s social media, the child was initially brought to the Plan Piloto park outpost by parishioners from the Cristo Salvador church, located near the Honduras sector.

An officer explained that upon recognizing the boy’s special needs, all necessary protocols were activated to locate his family. “The boy has autism, and we’ve done everything we can, calling upon all resources to help his family find him,” the officer stated in the video.
