The sports press is reporting on the change of uniforms of Dominicans playing in Major League Baseball, as teams tried to either beef up for the playoffs or cut payrolls and wait for the new year.

The Houston Astros acquired outfielder Jesus Sanchez in their drive for the World Series. Over in the National League, the Cincinnati Reds brought Miguel Andujar on board to join fellow Dominican Elly de la Cruz, and the Chicago Cubs acquired Willi Castro from the Minnesota Twins.

The San Diego Padres sent the number three prospect in Major League Baseball, Dominican Leodalis De Vries and a couple of others to Oakland in exchange for two pitchers. The Padres also acquired outfielder Ramon Laureano from Baltimore.
