A win by the women’s U23 Dominican Republic team is nothing extraordinary, but a gold medal win by the U23 Dominican Republic’s men’s volleyball team in the U23 Pan American Cup is unheard of. Yet it happened.

On 3 August 2025, in Guatemala City, following what Norceca league reports as a “thrilling five-set battle,” the Dominican Republic was crowned champions of the Men’s U23 Pan American Cup after defeating the United States 3-2 (25-23, 21-25, 23-25, 25-19, 16-14) at the Domo Polideportivo in Guatemala City.
