The Chicago White Sox organization broke ground Tuesday, 12 August 2025 to build a new state-of-the-art baseball academy in Boca Chica, in the province of Santo Domingo, an upgrade from their current facility in the same area.

The US$12 million baseball player training center for Dominican and regional players is developed by JN Academy Design, as reported by Noticias SIN. The facility is scheduled for completion in about a year.

Noticias SIN reports that once operational, the academy will serve as a top-tier training ground for hundreds of young players and coaches, while also delivering a substantial economic and employment boost to the surrounding area.
