The world’s best female 400 meter runner, Marileidy Paulino, once again conquered the race in the Diamond League meets, this time at thew Kamila Skolimowska Memorial competition in Silesia, Poland held on Saturday, 16 August 2025.

With her win on Saturday, Paulino was the first to qualify for the 400m final and now will await the selection of the other contestants that will compete in the Lausanne Diamond League meet.

To win in Poland, Paulino had to dig deep to once again outrun her arch-rival Salwa Eid Naser, the Nigerian now running for Bahrain and herself a former world champion. The Dominican won the race by just 0.09 seconds, 49.18 against 49.27. This is Paulino’s third victory in the Diamond League.

The race came with US$10,000 for the qualifying meet and RD$50,000 for the final.
