People queued for days in the Centro de los Heroes area to receive the backpacks with electronic devices and school supplies on Sunday, 24 August 2025 from 8am to 2pm. The ticket price was a sack of used plastic bottles.

The exchange was organized by the City Hall of the National District. City Mayor Carolina Mejia who since her first term as mayor in 2020 has been organizing the events that help clean up city garbage while creating awareness among young people of the importance of recycling.

The city hall has an agreement with a recycling company that converts the bottles into furniture for city parks.

Reports are that the effort was successful and more than 15 million plastic bottles were collected.
