Top defense officials from the United States and the Dominican Republic made a strategic tour of the Dominican-Haitian border on 26 August 2025, signaling a deepening of bilateral security cooperation.

Minister of Defense, Lieutenant General Carlos A. Fernández Onofre, and the U.S. Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for Western Hemisphere Affairs, Joseph M.
