We are now three-quarters of the way through 2025, and we can look forward to 2026 and do some planning. For the rest of 2025, there are three more holidays and one long weekend. On Wednesday 24 September, the nation celebrates Our Lady of Mercy, and, since it is a religious holiday, it is not moved. This is the day when many faithful make a pilgrimage to the Santo Cerro in La Vega.
Next, comes Thursday, 6 November, the day commemorating the first constitution back in 1844. This celebration is moved to Monday, 10 November 2025.
The last holiday of 2025 is Christmas Day, Thursday, 25 December. Since it falls on a Thursday, expect work outside of Christmas-related to stop on Tuesday, 23 December as people will be busy preparing for the long Christmas holidays.
