The long-time conductor of the National Symphony Orchestra announced he may well take on the challenge to present Handel’s Messiah at the National Theater. He mentioned how there is strength in choral singing here that would work well for the presenting of the difficult concert.

The Messiah has been described as a baroque piece, not classical, yet always a monument of hope, moving and joyful. It has been performed in Easter and Christmas. Several of the pieces are inspiring: Sure He Hath Born Our Griefs, For Unto Us a Child is Born, the Hallelujah Chorus, the Amen.
