President Luis Abinader and Minister of Tourism David Collado on 19 September 2025 officially opened the newly reconstructed access road to the stunning Aguas Blancas waterfall. The infrastructure cost more than RD$484.9 million and promises to be a game-changer for ecotourism in the mountain region.
The road had already been open for months to the general public. The 11.93-kilometer road is intended to significantly increase visitor traffic to the impressive natural site, that now is more accessible to both local and international tourists.
During the inauguration ceremony, Minister Collado highlighted the project’s dual purpose: to address a long-standing community request and to boost the local economy.
