Minister of Industry and Commerce Victor “Ito” Bisono, represented President Luis Abinader at a high-profile meeting hosted by the Atlantic Council, bringing together global business leaders and investors. The event took place at the Virgin Hotel in Manhattan as part of the side events surrounding the 80th United Nations General Assembly. Also attending for the DR were Maria Isabel Castillo, Dominican ambassador to the United States and Roberto Herrera, country manager for InterEnergy Holdings in the Dominican Republic.

The Presidency reported that President Abinader was unable to attend due to severe traffic congestion in New York City, caused by heightened security and the movements of world leaders attending the UN sessions.
