The scandalous case of significant financial leakages benefiting private companies at Senasa, the state insurance plan, continues in the media as details of several business schemes have been forthcoming. The media has been handling quantities of RD$21 billion to RD$100 billion that allegedly were milked through different scams.

The former director of the entity, physician Santiago Hazim released a taped video detaching himself from the irregularities exposed by several leading investigative programs. In his video, Hazim focused on just one of the schemes where massive corruption is suspected at the Senasa, arguing that it was he who had first denounced the case in November 2024.
