The International Monetary Fund was questioned by the staff of the Listin Diario newspaper regarding aspects of the Dominican economic situation, which is currently showing a slow-down in its GDP growth, and what is called “effervescence” in remittances this year.
The IMF focused its reply of the necessary changes that needed to be implemented, such as a stronger push for improving what is called the “human capital” or the labor force, in order to improve competitiveness of the Dominican Republic’s industries.
This, of course, requires education that is in line with the needs of industry today and in the future.
