The Presidency announced the naming of Alfonso Rodriguez Tejada as new general manager of the Dominican Electric Transmission Company (ETED). Executive Decree No. 653-25 highlights that the appointment is a move to strengthen the technical and management structure of the national electricity sector. Rodriguez Tejada replaces Martin Robles Morillo.

The announcement comes following the national blackout that impacted most of the power service in the country on 11 November 2025. The blackout originated in the San Pedro de Macoris Substation.

Rodríguez Tejada brings a robust background to the role. He holds a degree in Electrical Engineering from UNAPEC, which is complemented by a Law Degree from CDEP University.
