US Ambassador Leah Campos completed her first official visit to a private sector entity in the Dominican Republic this week, touring the extensive sugar and agro-industrial operations of Central Romana Corporation, according to a press release from Central Romana.

The visit follows through on a commitment made by the ambassador during a recent American Chamber of Commerce (Amchamdr) luncheon, where she signaled the importance of the corporation to the bilateral trade relationship.

Ambassador Campos was accompanied by a specialized delegation including officials from the US Customs and Border Protection (CBP) and the US Department of Agriculture (USDA).
