Interior and Police Minister Faride Raful issued a stern warning on Monday, 22 December 2025 against an entertainment industry she claims “thrives on disorder,” following a violent weekend that left two young men dead during holiday festivities.

Speaking after a weekly citizen security meeting led by President Luis Abinader, Raful addressed the ongoing struggle to curb noise pollution. She noted that government efforts to enforce tranquility have met significant pushback from commercial interests that disregard the rights of local residents.

“There has been considerable resistance from the start because this belongs to an industry that generates disorder and does not care about the rights of the citizens in the surrounding area,” Raful told reporters.
