Thousands of travelers over the New Year’s holidays saw delays and cancellations of their flights to and from the Dominican Republic after the airspace was shut down for the US intervention in Venezuela. The cancellations mostly affected those traveling to Puerto Rico.

A report in Diario Libre had a stranded traveler impacted by the cancellation on 5 January saying that JetBlue was rebooking him for 14 January. JetBlue is the leading carrier serving the United States.
