Over the past 14 years, the Dominican Republic has emerged as a primary destination for Venezuelan capital, securing US$851.9 million in Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) between 2010 and 2024, as reported in Noticias SIN.

According to the latest data from the Central Bank (BCRD) and ProDominicana, Venezuelan investment now accounts for 1.93% of the country’s total FDI. While this figure remains modest compared to giants like the United States, Canada, Spain, and Mexico, it has been enough to propel Venezuela into the 10th spot of the nation’s top 20 foreign investors.

Economic analysts note that Venezuelan capital is not just arriving. It is strategically integrating into the Dominican Republic’s most dynamic sectors, including tourism, real estate and services.
