The Dominican Republic’s Ministry of Defense announced the capture of a Haitian national allegedly linked to a series of gruesome murders in his home country. The suspect, identified as Chin Laduse, was apprehended during a border patrol operation along the Macasías River in Elías Piña.

According to official reports, Laduse was found hiding in dense brush near the riverbank on 27 January 2026. He was accompanied by a minor, identified as his son.

Investigations have revealed a chilling modus operandi involving a criminal network operating on the Haitian side of the border. The group reportedly targeted Haitian women with false promises of safe passage into the Dominican Republic. Instead of receiving help, the victims were subjected to sexual assault and murdered.
