Commuters in Santo Domingo will be testing the Integrated Fare System (SIT) where metro and specific bus services that now offers extended mass transit routes service for the same RD$35 fare.

Frinette Rodríguez, communications director for the SIT, told Listin Diario the system is designed to allow users to pay for both the bus and the Metro using a single contactless credit or debit card.

Users must use contactless bank cards at specifically marked turnstiles to validate the integrated rate.

The pilot program currently includes the following bus corridors:• Independencia (the newest addition)• Núñez de Cáceres• Winston Churchill• Charles de Gaulle
