President Luis Abinader has received an official invitation from US President Donald Trump to attend a high-level summit scheduled for 7 March 2026 in Miami, Florida, Dominican officials confirmed on Wednesday, 18 February. As reported, six other heads of state have been invited. These are Javier Milei (Argentina), Rodrigo Paz (Bolivia), Daniel Noboa (Ecuador), Nayib Bukele (El Salvador), Nasry Asfura (Honduras) and Santiago Peña (Paraguay).

The formal notification arrived Tuesday, 17 February, ending weeks of speculation regarding the gathering. Foreign Minister Roberto Álvarez confirmed the news during a luncheon with the Corripio Communications Group, noting that the Presidential Palace is currently preparing a public statement on the meeting.
