President Luis Abinader led the official opening to the general public of Line 2C of the Santo Domingo Metro, an initiative designed to enhance urban mobility and alleviate congestion on the Duarte Highway. The line spans 7.3 kilometers from the María Montez station to the Pablo Adón Guzmán station at the entrance of Los Alcarrizos, benefiting over one million residents.

Line 2C has five stops, a 6.5-kilometer marginal road parallel to the Duarte Highway, and a 940-meter tunnel. The official press release did not reveal the total cost of the project.

“Today, Los Alcarrizos is definitively connected to the heart of the city,” President Abinader declared. “This is not just an infrastructure project; it is a concrete response to a real need. It is a clear sign that when the State listens, plans, and perseveres, it can transform the lives of its people.”...
